We all know about stress and the effects on the human body, but do we know how serious those effect are? From strokes, to digestive problems, weight gain and more - the negative effects of stress are extensive. Many times, the stress in our lives can be self induced. One major cause of stress can be based on our diets. This Thanksgiving, look at the food around you. If you see something that you really love to eat or drink, we say go for it!
Follow these simple tips:
- Eat slow and enjoy every bite.
- Thanksgiving does not need to be an eating competition. If you really love what you are eating, take the time to savor each bite. Avoid eating for the sake of eating by listening to your body - stop eating when you feel full!
- Avoid excessive fried or overly oily food. These foods can cause digestive discomfort, including heartburn.
- Enjoy yourself and spend a moment to think about what you are thankful for. Positive thoughts also lead to stress reduction.
Think positively, enjoy yourself and reduce your stress this Thanksgiving.
Happy Holidays from the Gupta Gastro Team.
