Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the co-creator of The Simpsons, Sam Simon. Heroic humanitarian & genius co-creator of The Simpsons. D'oh, indeed. He developed the animated sitcom The Simpsons with Matt Groening and James L. Brooks in 1989. Simon assembled the show's first writing team, co-wrote eight episodes and has been credited with "developing [the show's] sensibility". Simon was diagnosed with terminal colorectal cancer in 2012 and given only three to six months to live. He donated much of his fortune to charity. He died on March 8, 2015. Thank you for providing laughter for millions of people worldwide. You will be missed but not forgotten.
